TRUFFLES is a male French Bulldog and what a dog he is. He is 1 to 2 years old. Truffles is house and crate trained and loves his stuffed toys. He gets along with other dogs and cats but doesn't want to play with them. He is a great little second story guy who can think his way up and over many obstacles to get where he wants to be. A delighful little guy and wonderful companion. 18 lbs

BUDDY........Need a running buddy? Don't want to pay for a burglar alarm? Concerned about the crime rate in your area? Want to do obedience or agility? Buddy would fit the bill for you. Buddy is a 3 - 4 year old Shepard mix. He is house trained, crate trained, good with cats, children and other dogs. Buddy will NOT be placed with first time owners. He is a very smart dog who needs an owner with experience. Buddy is very intelligent and willing to please. Like most intelligent dogs he needs an owner who is willing to train and work with him and who understands dog behavior. Buddy will also do best if he is placed with another dog. Buddy is very protective of his family. He will bark and carry on if a stranger approaches his house or yard. He calms down as soon as his owner tells him it is ok or if the person pets him. He needs an equally intelligent owner who will take charge....if not he will! He is a wonderful dog who will make a great companion for the right family. 50 lbs.

JACQUELINE is a young adult Siamese mix about 2 - 3 years old. She is good with people, cats and some dogs. Indoors only. She is currently in a foster home as she doesn't like being at Petsmart, but is fine in a home. Jacqueline would be so happy to have a home of her own and she would be a wonderful companion.

MEMPHIS is a male Beagle/Dachshund mix who is about 6 yrs old. He is a gentleman; and likes a settled and quiet life with his person. He LOVES to go in the car and on walks or just simply be at your side, and he is loving and loyal. He lives with other dogs at his foster home but would really prefer to be an only child as he does like attention and doesn't need another dog for companionship while his person is away. He is kennel trained but does not need to be while you're away. He is house trained. 18 lbs.

SHELBY is a female, 1 to 2 years old, frisky, high- energy Schnauzer mix. She loves attention, her toys and going for walks. She is house trained and crate trained. Shelby is good with other dogs and likes to play with them, but she also likes to be the boss. She is very obedient, very smart and a great companion. 11 lbs.

MEGAN is a 9-month old Lab/Shepherd mix. She is crate trained and house trained. She loves kids and gets along great with other dogs. She is madly in love with the cat—much to the cat’s dismay! She has a soft mouth and plays well with smaller animals. This affectionate, fun pup enjoys running, playing, and just being your girl! 52 lbs.

DAPHNE is a female, Dachshund/Chihuahua mix, 8 months old. She doesn't realize how small she is. Crate trained; learning very fast at figuring out what she needs to do for her house training. Loves people and enjoys playing with the other dogs. 7 lbs.

SYDNEY is a female, Maltese mix. Yes, she is smiling because she is so happy to be taken out of the animal shelter. She came into her foster home and doesn't know what to do with the big dogs...she thinks she can boss them around. House trained and uses a doggy door. Wonderful with adults and children, but needs to be the only dog in the home. 9 lbs.

"My name is ARCHIE and I am about a year old Chihuahua / Rat Terrier mix. I lived on the streets for about 2 months, so I am a tough little guy, but now I am enjoying...no, demanding...the finer things in life like a warm home, good food, buddies to play with and a loving foster mom and dad. But when my bigger foster brother gets playing too rough I am no pushover, I tell him to back off because I AM ARCHIE! I am crate trained, leash trained, and doing well on housetraining. And I love t-shirts and sweaters in cold weather, as long as they are macho. I am looking for a forever home that will keep me in the style I prefer, because even tough little guys need love and attention. 8 pounds."

CHARLIE BROWN is a handsome 2 year old male Beagle. He is house trained and crate trained. He loves people and wants to please. This fun-loving, playful little guy enjoys playing with his toys, belly rubs, and hunting squirrels. Charlie likes his space and will do best as the only male dog. 35 lbs.

MUGSY: His eyes are round, bright and brown, but you will have to see them in person as his picture doesn't pick that up. He is a happy boy. He is happy to see anybody, but especially his people. He loves everybody and everything, big and little people, dogs, cats, leaves, grass, toys, anything to just be, well, HAPPY! He is crate and house trained. He is around 1-2 years old. We believe he is Affenpincher. He does not shed, so he will have to be groomed professionally on a 6-8 week basis. 13 lbs.

LUPETA NOEL was scheduled to be put to sleep at the Wichita Animal Shelter when an employee took us back to see her. She was curled in a small cage and was such a pitiful sight. Emaciated and dehydrated she looked so fragile yet she still had spirit in her eyes and licked our hands as we held her. She was given fluids and sent to the veterinarian where she was found to be very anemic and full of parasites. With medicine, fluids, and special food she came back to life and you would never know she was ever on "death's door". She is a sweet, loving little dog who is doing well on her house training and loves people. She is just one of 8 Chihuahuas that we have in our program. She is about 1 year old and now weighs 5 lbs.2oz. and has the biggest, bownest eyes that could melt the coldest ice cube!! She will make someone a great companion.

JOSIE is a 6 months old German Shepard Dog. Hey, Mom, what is this white stuff? She does not have a white nose....she was just having so much fun playing in the snow. She didn't know what to think of it when she went outside, but she loved playing in it. Josie is a typical puppy who has lots of energy. She came to us in real need of just general training and did not know how to play well with other dogs. Her foster Mom's Bloodhound took her on and started teaching her "good doggie playing 101" instead of all out jump on everyone. Josie is a very smart dog and started catching on right away. She is also a fast learner when it comes to commands (though she is still a puppy). She is crate trained and pretty well house trained. She needs an experienced German Shepard owner who will continue her training. She loves people, is a good watch dog, and will make a great companion dog. She will be about 70 to 80 lbs. when grown.

AMIGO is a male Chihuahua about 1 yr old and 5 lbs. He was picked up as a stray and taken to the Wichita Animal Shelter. Although he was friendly when he was picked up he soon became fearful in the shelter as most Chihuahua's do. Huddled in the corner he was deemed unadoptable through the humane societies program. On his last day I (his foster mom) picked him up. Even though I didn't really have room for him I couldn't forget those fearful eyes and knew he would not be afraid once in a home. He got his name because on our way home he hopped up on the console next to me, licked me on the face and sat there watching everything go by. It was very evident that he was used to car rides. He sat by my shoulder the whole way home looking at me and the surroundings as if to say..."boy am I glad I'm going home with you." Since then he has been a dream, house and crate trained, good with people and other dogs his size he will make a great companion for the right family.

TOBY is a male Shih Tzu. New to the program, updates will follow.

JOSIE a Chihuahua came to the shelter with a male Chihuahua. She was very pregnant. Her owner could not afford to reclaim her so she and her mate Poncho came into our program. Shortly after she came to us she started labor but had to have a c-section as she could not deliver them on her own. She is absolutely a wonderful liittle dog. She is house trained and loves attention. She is great with everyone as she does not know a stranger. This is not typical of the breed. She enjoys playing with dogs her size, but does not like to be around larger dogs. She is about a year old and weighs about 5 lbs.

FRISCO is an older (6+ years) male, Shih Tzu. He is very sweet, calm and lovable. House trained and crate trained. He does well with other dogs, is obedient and loves to cuddle. He is a great companion dog.

TUCKER is a 10 month old male Silky Terrier. New to program but is a very energetic dog who is good with other dogs is doing well on his house training. He loves playing with toys and is learning to sit, down and stay. 10 lbs.

PETUNIA is a young adult female Pug (we think 2-3 years old). She is incredibly friendly toward people, likes children and seems to do OK with other dogs. She is housebroken, crate trained, and uses a doggy door. Still new to the program and being evaluated. 12 pounds.

MOLLY is just the best little Boston there is. She is about 1 to 2 yrs old and very petite at 9 lbs. She is crate and house trained and loves to snuggle with her foster parents. She will play with dogs her size or smaller who are not aggressive and enjoys stuffed toys and treats. She is very well-mannered and obeys simple commands. Absolutely a doll just waiting for her new home.

MITZIE is a female Bichon Frise. She is 7 plus years old. Picked up as a stray she was all matted and dirty when we got her. We would like to thank Nikki at Cut N Strut for grooming her. She is what you call an experienced dog who knows just what to do to make everyone love her. House trained with a doggie door, good with other dogs and cats and just a sweetheart to foster. At 10 lbs. she is just waiting for her new home.

HANK is a 1 yr old chocolate Labrador Retriever. He is a very handsome guy with a great personality. Still young and energetic he is catching on fast to his training and will mature into a great family dog. He is large at around 75 lbs., but good in the house and crate trained.

LOLA is an 8 months old Labradoodle. Her owners did not have time for her and when she came to us she was a bit of a wild child. She has now settled into her foster home and is learning proper big dog manners. She is house trained and good with other dogs. She loves her soft toys but is not possesive of them. She is a large dog and when grown might be over 80 lbs. She will need regular professional grooming about every 6 weeks.

POLLY is a female 8 month old Jack Russell Terrier who is new to our program. She is house trained and good with other dogs both large and small. Unusually calm for her breed she is good with children and will make a great family dog. 10 lbs.

SOPHIE is a 2 year old Golden Retriever. She is new to our program and she came to us with 12- 4 week old puppies. She had mastitis so the puppies had to be taken off and are now being cared for by foster parents. Sophie is a very soft-mannered dog and was a great mom. She barks when she has to go outside, is comfortable in a crate and gets along with other dogs both large and small. She is recouperating from having her puppies and is gaining weight. She doesn't know about toys but is learning from the other dogs in her foster home. She will be 60 lbs. when in good health.

ABBY, LUCY and JODIE are our 3 Chihuahua puppies. They are about 12 weeks old now (2/01/10), Josie is their mom....can't you see the resemblance! They are playful, friendly and love to be held. We are looking for special homes for these very small little girls. They should be about 5 lbs. when grown.

WILLIE is about 12 weeks old (2/1/10). He has a mighty bark for such a little guy. He is mostly Dachshund. He loves to play with dogs and toys. Is still learning about housetraining and accepts the crate well. He likes people and is good with children.

DELTA is a bit camera shy but she is a delightful companion animal who's owner could no longer take care of her. She is a Golden Retriever mix who is house trained and is used to being brushed and loved. She is a senior pet, but you would never know it. We are hoping to find a home that will look past her age and into her eyes and see all the love and youthfullness that she still has to give. 50 lbs.

ANDY is about 2 years old, male black Pug, well house trained, does not need to be crated. Very loving and playful. Gets along very well with dogs and ignores the cats. He would love to spend most of the day in his foster mom's lap. He is a delight to be with and should be placed with a calm dog. Good natured all the way.

MERCEDES is really camera shy....she is such a beautiful Doberman Pinscher. She is three years old and her owner could no longer keep her. She is house trained and good with other dogs and cats. She is very large for a female and absolutely gorgeous. She loves to jog and play with her foster mom's Great Pyernese. 100 lbs.

JOSEF is a male Sheltie mix who is about 4 months old. He is a delightful little guy who is great in a crate and is really doing excellent on his house training with a doggie door (he was so smart he learned the doggie door in nothing flat). He is new to the program watch for updates. 10 lbs.

Introducing PATRICK. He is an awesome Brindle color male Shih Tzu, approximately 1-2 years old. He is just one big fluff ball of love. Has a great personality, loves kids, loves other dogs. He is learning how to play with his foster siblings. He would be a great companion dog. He would be a good dog with a family and we would love to see him with another pet in the household. He is doing great with house training and leash training. Still working on crate training but doing very well. He is not much of a "jumper", on people or furniture. He makes us laugh every day. Wherever he is and decides to lay down for a little nap, he just flops down flat on the floor. Its very funny to watch. He is starting to figure out playing with toys. Loves to play. Its awesome watching him blossom into a great dog. Thank you Nikki at Cut N Strut for the new handsome hairdo. Patrick weighs in at 14 lbs.
